Cons: It is about 18 or 19 dollars. Its just a hunk of metal.

Review: Everyone has seen this thing before. Every gym I have ever been to carries these because they are on the cheaper end of the spectrum and they just work really well. There is nothing to technical about a belay device but I have used this one...

Simple but Effective

Pros: cheap, easy to use, durable, lightweight, time tested, safe.

Cons: not good for thinner ropes, the friction from ropes wears off the color.

The Bottom Line: This is a very good belay device. I will use it for many years to come.
