Pros: Long MTBF, Simple hook-up
Cons: Tractor problems, spare parts difficult, different ribbon.
This reviewer recommends this product.
Review: Bought these to replace Epson 570e printers. Good printer for legacy applications. It just hooks up and runs when connected to a DOS computer. The menu set-up is reasonable.

I used rear feed tractor with continuous paper. I had trouble...

Cons: Clumsy, expensive to operate, high-print failure rate, poor support.

Review: My husband and I each bought an LQ-590. Our previous experience with Epson had been perfect. This has been a disaster with Epson denying at every turn that the computer has a problem. At most, you can print 4 pages before it starts jamming...
