The GR-DZ7 includes a 10x optical zoom. It appears that JVC is concentrating on video quality through their lens and processing system. The camcorder includes a 2 Meagpixel CCD and JVC's "Super Hi-Rez lens." According to JVC's press release, the lens is a "The newly developed nine-group 11-element structured optics, which includes a glass-molded aspherical lens.."
