The iHome with a nice look, great sound, and many features!

The Bottom Line: I recommend this product to everyone who has an iPod and not an iHome yet!
The Altec Lansing Docking Stationis a great device with many nice features! You can listen to an iPod, the radio, or even another source. You can plug in another radio or CD player and listen to that. Although I wish there was an AM radio too, and that this iHome could pick up certain stations better.
-The Basics-
For those of you who have no idea, an iHome is simply a speaker. There are many different designs and features depending upon which one you buy. You can plug and iPod into the speaker and listen to your music on speakers! Most iPod owners also own a iHome because the only other way you can hear your music is through headphones. This also works as a charger for your iPod, instead of having to charge it at the computer. Although to download songs and more from your computer, you will still have to.
This particular iHome is probably your best buy out of all of them! I paid roughly a little over $100 for it, and compared to most that was cheap. You can get cheaper ones, but I suggest going to a store to listen to them. If they seem too cheap compared to all of the others you looked at, then there is probably not very good sound quality! You can here the Altec Lansing Sound Dock from across the room easily. Since you can put the volume all the way up to 40 it will get pretty loud. Mine is usually set less than 10 and you can hear it around the room. This is a nice radio for a party, because you can probably still hear the music!
-Look-
The look of this sound dock was actually probably my favorite at the store! There were some that had greater sound, or more functions, but they didn't look as nice as this one. This was one of the main reasons I decided to go with the Altec Lansing iHome! The whole thing is black and it is in the shape of a rectangle. The screen lights up blue, with white writing. This sound dock might even make your room look nicer, and sound nicer of course!
-Design-
This sound dock is designed so that you can manually change the volume and settings or you can set them with your remote from anywhere in the room! Just make sure it is aimed at the device. You can also fool the stand and antenna up for when you take it somewhere. When you want to set it out you just pull out the stand which also gives a spot for the iPod to connect. When you like a radio station you can preset it onto your top 4 stations which you can go to with the remote.
-Features-
When you plug your iPod into the sound dock, you can start to play your music and even charge your iPod! Then you can listen to any FM radio station that you can get. If you plug in any other musical device, the sound dock will play it! So if you want to listen to a CD, but you would like to hear it on better speakers, just plug it into the iHome! Another great feature is that it is very portable because of the way it can fold up. I also enjoy how if you leave the iHome plugged in, it will charge as well. This will make it easy to take somewhere else to listen because you don't have to plug it in! I think it would be easier to carry if it included a case, but sadly it doesn't. There is not a clock which is also a disadvantage since there is a small screen that is the perfect spot for one! Although I wish there was a carrying case and a clock, it is still a great sound dock!
-Overall Recommendation-
This is a great iHome that is worth the money because of the many great features and the nice sound quality! There are a few minor problems, but all in all, this is a great sound dock to buy!
