Pros: Fabulous sound Amazing clarity (once crackles cleaned up) Accurate representation of instruments and vocals

Sound is the only thing that a speaker system should be judged by. In this case Bose wins the battle hands down.

I had a Logitech Z5500 that my wife didn't like in the computer area so I relegated it to the theatre as surround sound and had to replace it with something.

As a trained classical musician and opera singer I am particularly fussy on sound and as my income was now sufficient I decided to get a really great set of speakers in 2.1 configuration.

After a lot of research I went to hear the Bose Series III and walked out with some.

I did encounter an issue.

On Windows Vista Ultimate in my case all my music played through Media Player is plagued with crackling. The fix for this so far I have found is a plug in called SRS Audio Soundbox. However I am running a question on the user group for more information.
