Great camcorder

Overall a great camcorder. Movie and picture quality is just outstanding, hard drive (60GB) allows very fast export to computer, flash card slot is very convinient, sound is great, connections (HDMI, USB, analog, microphone, head set) are great, image stabilization works better than expected
The biggest flaws are:
Pictures:
- The manual mode is complex and not easy to master. Forcing the flash on does not seem always possible.
Movies:
- AVCHD format (high definition) is great but extremly heavy and you need a very powerful computer to edit your movies (I would say Quad Core, 6 MB Ram, 1 TB HDD).
- To get full benefit from HD you need a blue ray burner, a blue ray dvd player and a high def TV! If you don't plan to invest in these, you don't need this high definition camcorder.
- Canon software for editing movies sucks and you need to buy another one. But it works pretty good to export to MPEG2 (DVD format)
- Low light condition setting is good but not outstanding (video light for low light recommended)
- the genuine Canon accessories are very expensive
