Author's Review
I bought the xbox 360 holiday budle back in November. It came with the console, all of the wires, a wireless controller, Kung Fu Panda the Videogame, and Lego Indiana Jones. I am very pleased with this gaming console and it seems to me like it is the only gaming platform currently on the market that is exceptionally well rounded, in terms of internet play, games, controller, price, etc.
HARDWARE
The 360 itself looks pretty neat, possessing a slim, rounded shape that kind of curves in at the middle. The controller feels really comfortable and fits perfectly into your hands. When the Xbox 360 left alone and you aren't playing a game, watching a movie, listening to music, etc., the console makes a weird noise. But when you are playing a game, etc. you don't notice it at all, so it isn't the least bit of a problem for me.
GAMES
The selection of games for the xbox 360 is what really puts it up front, on top of the Wii and the PS3. The one bad thing is the prices. Nearly all of the new Xbox 360 games begin at $60, and that is a lot of money to spend on a videogame. Some games are worth the money though! Names like Halo, Fable, Gears of War, and many more are only on the Xbox 360. The first game I purchased with the console was Call of Duty World at War. Although it is not exclusive on the Xbox 360, the graphics are outstanding and the multiplayer is so addicting that you will never want to stop. One of the most popular games for the Xbox is Halo. Halo 3 to be precise. Halo 3 is the #1 selling Xbox game ever. The Halo story is about a group of special marine forces, led by "Master Chief" who fight aliens to try and stop the universe from blowing up. Halo 3 is widely known for its multiplayer gameplay. You can even design your own maps in "Forge" and then play on them with your friends. Fable 2 is a great game as well. You fight in a magical world known as Albion. The choices that you make during the game affect the story and who your character becomes. Another great game for all you racing fans is Pure. Pure is an ATV game that lets you race all over the world and pull off insane tricks that are impossible.
XBOX LIVE
Xbox Live is a way to play online games with people from all across the world. You can play with friends, or even against friends! You can also download games as well as demos, maps and even add ons such as character packs, levels, and updates. The xbox 360 really excels when it comes to online play, and although you have to pay around $40 per year, it is worth it.
GRAPHICS
The graphics on the Xbox 360 are truly amazing. I had come from playing the wii and gamecube, and I was truly amazed. I've heard comments on how the PS3 has the best graphics, but I have played the PS3, and the graphics don't live up to all the hype. The Xbox 360 has the same, if not better graphics, than any console on the market. If you are playing on a 1080p HDTV, then the graphics are even better. There is also an additonal cable that you can purchase to make the graphics even better.
The xbox 360 is a very well rounded console. It has great controls, great games, and although you have to pay a fee, it also has awesome online play. To back this up, the xbox 360 is cheaper than ever. You will not regret your purchase. I know I didn't!
