Good exfoliant.....but be careful!
Date of Review: Sep 1, 2006
The Bottom Line: This product is a nice go to exfoliant scrub. I would recommend it for those ladies who would like to really "treat" themselves to an intense exfoliation experience.
I purchased Amazing grace salt scrub from drugstore.com. I read several review on the item, and I was attracted to the fact that the scrub came in a large 23oz. container. I like to use salt scrubs regularly, and am very tall, so a large quantity was a bonus!
I was also attracted to the scent. Amazing Grace is a light, fresh fragrance almost any woman would love. It really is pretty much universal.
I followed the directions on the jar, which said to take a small amount of the scrub and rub it on your dry skin standing in the shower. Now, the scrub is not as liquidy as most salt scrubs I was used to. Normally, I use salt scrubs that are mixed partially with oils, and I have to mix the scrub up to mix the oil and salt together so I am not rubbing pure oil on my body. However the Amazing Grace scrub is more like a paste, and when you rub it on your dry body, you have to kinda rub hard...which started to hurt a little bit after a while. But I got the hang of the stuff and it was a bit easier after a while.
I did notice that I had a couple little red "rub marks" on my body after I got out of the shower though. Rubbing the scrub on wet skin doesn't work because the salt melts right away and you don't have any "rough stuff" to exfoliate with anymore.
The smell is heavenly..and it lingered on my body long after I left the shower. I felt smooth and very very clean. There is also a bit of moisturizer in the scrub, however I still used my Kiehl's Creme de Corps body cream after the shower...cause I LOVE that stuff.
Great to calm you down after a PMS hormonal episode (which was my case)...works like a charm!
