Product Review

Good for the Rest of us

by   gooner41 ,   Apr 30, 2008

Pros:  Compact, huge touchscreen LED screen, different colors available.

Cons:  Menus and controls could be much more user friendly and picture quality seems inconsistent

Overall Rating: 4/5 stars

Author's Review

I bought this as an early x-mas gift for the girlfriend (in October/November). She tends to misplace things so having a bright red camera was a definite plus. It's a solid camera and one of the first to feature the fully touch screen interface. Although not particularly user friendly, the menus do get easier to use with time.

If you are an "amateur" or "professional" photographer, I don't know why you'd even be looking at this kind of camera, but for the rest of us, it will suffice. Picture quality seems to be inconsistent, but that could be due to operator error or failure to apply the appropriate setting. That said, we've taken some really good pictures.

One other minor drawback would be the standard zoom. Perhaps this is an adjustable setting, but I'm going to assume it isn't. We've found that we've had to take a few steps back to get the pictures we want, i.e. including all friends' faces in the shot, getting all of a scene in the shot, etc.
