Pros: Toasts fast,even, many options, safety first
Cons: Only 2 slices at a time

Would a pricier China made toaster be really much better?

Pros: High power, 1100Watts. Fast, doesn't dehydrate the bread. Clever high lift mechanism.
Cons: Uneven browning; Need to flip the bred at half time to obtain an even browning.
